FACTORYVILLE SHADE TREE COMMISSION MEETINGS:

Friday, September 5, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Factoryville Borough Hall Building,
161 College Avenue, Factoryville.
Agenda will include the following:
1) Discussion of permit applications for any tree pruning, removals, or planting along the right of ways of Factoryville Borough.
2) Discussion of tree pruning for clearance pruning along all the public parks, sidewalks, streets, and right of ways in the Borough.
3) Discuss fall tree orders and start planning for upcoming volunteer work dates to plant trees and enhancement plantings along the streets of Factoryville.
4) Planning for ongoing tree assessments for all borough streets. If you have a tree you are concerned about along the streets of Factoryville please contact the Shade Tree Commission
at 945-1014.
Tree orders being accepted now, please call us if you would like to order a tree.

For the week of August 10th through August 16th, 2008:
We only got 0.5" of rain last week, new trees will need 10 gallons of water this week

Volunteers plant 25 new trees on April 19, 2008
Thank you volunteers for coming out and helping us plant trees.
Arbor Day was celebrated this year on April 25, 2008 at 3 pm. Factoryville Girl Scout Troop #60 planted a tree in the new parking lot on College Avenue.
TREE ORDERS:
We order trees twice a year in the spring and fall.

The Factoryville Shade Tree Commission
The Shade Tree Commission plants and maintains trees along the Borough streets and public rights-of-way, and in municipal open space.
Our mission is to create and maintain optimum tree cover, species diversity, and a pleasant, planned environment. Promoting an effective community forestry program as an ongoing process of renewal and improvement. A program of tree planting and care that continues through the years creating community pride and involvement.
If you have a tree along the right of way that you are concerned about, please let The Shade Tree Commission know. You can call the Borough Hall building and leave a message at 945-7484.
