ORDINANCE  #341 

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SHADE TREE COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR PERMITS, RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE PLANTING, MAINTENANCE, PROTECTION AND REMOVAL OF TREES IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; AND,  PROVIDING ENFORCEMENT AND CREATING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE ORDINANCE.

Section 4.  PERMITS REQUIRED

The Shade Tree Ordinance requires a permit for all tree plantings, removals, pruning, or any alterations to any shade tree or naturally growing tree along Borough Streets or roads under the jurisdiction of the Borough.

A permit will be issued upon application to the Shade Tree Commission.  The permit shall specify the address or blocks where any such tree maintenance activity shall be undertaken.

Permits are free and can be obtained by calling or visiting the Borough Hall Building and requesting a permit form.

Permits are discussed and voted upon at monthly Shade Tree Commission meetings.

The Factoryville Shade Tree Commission meets each month
on the first Monday at 6 p.m.

Shade Tree Permits applications are reviewed monthly at the public shade tree meeting.
Permits are needed for any tree pruning, removals, or planting along the right of ways of Factoryville Borough.

If you are interested in ordering a tree, the shadetree commission plants trees every April and October.
