Rain totals and watering information:
For the week of June 29th - July 5th: We got over 1" of rain last week, you don't need to water this week.
New trees need to be watered weekly for the first two years after they are planted.

Factoryville Borough Hall Building,
161 College Avenue, Factoryville.
No meeting in July because of the Independence Holiday.
Agenda will include the following:
1) Discussion of permit applications for any tree pruning, removals, or planting along the right of ways of Factoryville Borough.
2) Planning for ongoing tree assessments for all borough streets. If you have a tree you are concerned about along the streets of Factoryville please contact the Shade Tree Commission
at 945-1014.
3) Plan for ongoing maintenance of trees and gardens over the summer.
4) Begin to prepare Fall Tree Order for new trees that will be planted in late October.
New shrubs and flowers were planted on Friday June 26th with the help of the Wyoming County Juvenile Probation Office and some of their young men. Areas beautified were at the Traffic Light on Route 6 at Kemmerer Avenue, College Avenue by the crosswalk at the Elementary Center, and the triangle area at Riverside Drive and Highland Avenue.

New Planters added to College Avenue
Flowers added to planters, a special thanks to everyone that helped beautify Factoryville.
Volunteers planted trees on April 16th. Volunteer Dan Morse dug the holes for our new street trees once again.
Arbor Day was celebrated on April 20, 2009. Lackawanna Trail High School Students planted 4 trees to celebrate Arbor Day. 2 trees were planted at the public parking lot across from Rays Market and 2 trees were planted at the Clinton Township - Factoryville Borough Joint Municipal Park. District Forester Andrew Duncan presented the Tree City Designation to Factoryville for the 10th time.
Thank you volunteers for coming out and helping us plant trees.
Arbor Day has been celebrated in Factoryville for 11years... in 2008, Factoryville Girl Scout Troop #60 planted a tree in the new parking lot on College Avenue. Arbor Day is celebrated at the end of April every year.
TREE ORDERS:
We order trees twice a year in the spring and fall.

Mission Statement of
The Factoryville Shade Tree Commission
The Shade Tree Commission plants and maintains trees along the Borough streets and public rights-of-way, and in municipal open space.
Our mission is to create and maintain optimum tree cover, species diversity, and a pleasant, planned environment. Promoting an effective community forestry program as an ongoing process of renewal and improvement. A program of tree planting and care that continues through the years creating community pride and involvement.
If you have a tree along the right of way that you are concerned about, please let The Shade Tree Commission know. You can call the Borough Hall building and leave a message at 945-7484.
